LMB conducts Orientation on Proclamation 172, DENR Administrative Order (DAO) and Magna Carta of Women (MCW)

To enlighten their partner LGU regarding the disposition of lots under Proclamation 172 and the guidelines in the conduct of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), DENR Administrative Order (DAO) 2016-30 as well as the Magna Carta of Women (R.A. 9710), the Land Management Bureau conducted an orientation at Brgy. North Signal Village, Taguig City last May 6, 2019.

The activity was attended by Atty. Marlou P. Alutaya (Chief, Legal Division of LMB), Atty. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary D.L. Pimentel (Section Chief, Claims and Conflicts), Ms. Maria Gina F. Pascua (GAD Chairperson), Engr. Jerbee R. Baggay, Mr. Yves S. Balerio (GAD Coordinator) and other representatives from Brgy. North Signal Village.

The first topic which was highlighted during the orientation is the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign relative to the processing of Taguig land application/s covered by Proclamation   No. 2476 as amended by Proclamation No. 172 discussed by Engr. Baggay. He also presented the “Handog Titulo sa Taguig” project, in relation to Gender and Development (GAD), the step-by-step process, basic requirements and qualifications in acquiring a title under Proclamation No. 2476.

Moreover, Atty. Pimentel discussed the guidelines on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in which she explained a procedure in settling disputes without litigation, advantages of ADR and the effects of this DENR DAO 2016-30.

Lastly, Atty. Alutaya gave a lecture about the Magna Carta of Women (MCW) under R.A. 9710. She discussed the women’s rights and the government’s responsibilities in implementing these rights. She also mentioned the importance of these rights and the role of the society to empower the women.

The program ended with Ms. Pascua expressing her deepest gratitude to everyone who participated and supported the activity.
