29TH NATIONAL STATISTICS MONTH LMB BANNER RAISERS

The Land Management Bureau participated in the different activities in celebration of the National Statistics Month. The participants in the Learning Event and Quizbee held on October 24, 2018 were Ms. Maritoni Jane Cawaling and Ms. Nicole Ortega of the Land Policy and Planning Division and joining the trio was Ms. Dianne Villapando of the Director’s Office. The participants were re-grouped with other contestants from participating Bureaus and Regional Offices. The contest is in line with the theme, “Exploring Philippine Wonders in Numbers: Statistics Towards Sustainable Tourism Development”.

Prior to the Quiz Bee, a series of lectures were shared by different speakers. A three-round battle of the minds were set and Ms. Cawaling together with her groupmates won 3rd place. Other activities like the On-the-Spot Collage Making Contest and the On-the-Spot Watercolor Painting Contest were set to showcase the art skills of DENR employees. Mr. Ronnie Cortez joined the Collage Making Contest and Mr. Earl Joseph Maralit made an entry for the Watercolor Painting Contest.

Out of the different pieces of art, Mr. Maralit’s work titled “The Demographic of Philippine Wonders” garnered 2nd place for the Voters’ Choice Award with 1,518 votes from Facebook’s online voting scheme. This art also won 3rd place for the overall rating of the art entries.
