LAND MANAGEMENT OFFICERS “GENDERIZED”
The Gender and Development Focal Point System (GAD-FPS) conducted a gender sensitivity training (GST) for officers of the Land Management Bureau (LMB) to become gender responsive to clienteles on land-related transactions.
The group composed of Land Management Officers (LMOs), Land Management Examiners (LMEs), Records Officers, Special Investigators and Cartographers was the first batch of LMB employees to undergo the GST.
The learning event is pursuant to Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 7-1995 entitled “Prescribing the Guidelines for the Implementation of Gender and Development Activities in the DENR.” Said AOprovidesfor the integration of GAD issues and concerns in all programs and projects of the Department and to ensure that allpersonnel of the agency/LGU including the Auditors are capacitated on GAD.
Salient topics on Basic Gender Concepts; Women Situationer; Gender Roles; Gender Issues; GAD Legal Bases; and Concept of Development was discussed and presented by Economist Stephen Roy Tolentino from the Policy Studies Division of the DENR.
On the other hand, Gemma Ifurung, GAD Technical Adviser talked on GAD Planning and Budgeting; Harmonized GAD Guidelines (HGG); Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF); Gender Analysis; Related Forms (GMEF Forms and HGG Design Checklist); and LMB GAD Toolkit.
The learning event was held last March 11-13, 2015 in Tanza, Cavite. ###
