DENR listed 32, 542 lots ready for titling in 9 pilot municipalities
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has listed a total of 32, 542 residential and agricultural lots for ready for titling in 9 municipalities, as of this writing.
Upon evaluation, the Land Management Bureau (LMB), found that 49% of these lots are residential while the rest are mostly agricultural.
This was after the DENR has implemented the Rapid Land Tenure Appraisal (RLTA) in 2018, a strategy identified by its Land Management Bureau (LMB) in accelerating land titling activities of the Department.
According to LMB Director Atty. Emelyne V. Talabis, RLTA provides an accurate inventory of all the remaining untitled lands all over the Philippines in support to the Number 6 of President Duterte Administration’s 10-point socio-economic agenda specifically on “ensuring security of land tenure to encourage investments, and address bottlenecks in land management and titling agencies”.
Engr. Henry Pacis, Chief, Land Planning and Policy Division, LMB, stated that the RLTA is a critical strategy to achieving success on Agenda #6.
“It will give us a clearer picture on how many more lots can still be titled in a given Local Government Unit (LGU), for better resource allocation. This will also give us an idea how much revenue on land can be generated by LGUs after titling activities.”, Pacis said.
Ms. Gina Pascua, Head of the RLTA Team said that despite the COVID19 pandemic, the DENR Regional Offices are implementing the activity. Around 1,000 municipalities are programmed to be completed by the end of 2023.
“Though it has slowed down this year because of COVID 19 pandemic, still, most of the regions continue to conduct preliminary activities like meeting with LGUS for the purpose of signing a Memorandum of Partnership Agreements (MOPAs) with them and rolling out to targeted municipalities for CY 2020 following the new normal safety protocols. Meetings and trainings are being done either through webinar and or with physical distancing.”
“Our goal of completing the land titling in the country by 2030 will be realized only with the help of LGUs”, Pascua added.
