LMB concludes 120th Lands Anniversary celebration

The Land Management Bureau successfully concluded its 120th Lands Anniversary through a virtual program on September 29, 2021.

In his opening message, LMB Assistant Director Engr. Romeo Verzosa mentioned that the theme “Overcoming Hurdles and Surpassing Boundaries of Land Administration and Management through Digital Transformation” is relevant as the bureau continuously overcome hurdles with this pandemic fatigue and consider this crisis as an opportunity for transformation to start something new and better towards effective and efficient land administration and management.

He also emphasized that this year onwards, the clear goal is to sustain the performance for public service.

LMB Director Atty. Emelyne V. Talabis also pointed out that despite the pandemic, the LMB continuous to carry out the bureau’s mandates and initiate technical innovations to improve land administration and management.

“Overcoming hurdles is not easy, but we are able to adapt to the changing times, especially during this crisis. Digital Transformation will be a long journey but we are doing our best to do our duties well”, she expressed.

The month-long celebration was capped off by an awarding ceremony of the winners on the different events such as Phonetography Contest, The Masterminds: LMB Quiz Bee, and the Lands Journal.

Winners for Phonetography were Mara Bea Solbita (1st place), Angela Arnante (2nd place), Angelica Rocapor (3rd place and People Choice Award). The Phonetography Contest is a photo contest opened to the public which features the skills and creativity in visual presentation of this year’s theme. Winners were given Php5,000, Php3,000 and Php2000, respectively.

On the other hand, Mr. Michael Niño Bohol and Ms. Liza Mae Galicha from the Geodetic Surveys Division were hailed as champion on The Masterminds: LMB Quiz Bee garnering 47 points; Ms. Rhiea Cadsawan and Ms. Emilyn Castillo Land Management Division placed 1st runner up with 38 points; and Ms. Jennifer Marie Borbon and Ms. Mechelle Naboya from the Legal Division ranked 2nd runner up after getting 36 points.  The Masterminds is an activity which aimed at reorienting LMB employees with concepts on land matters, environment and general knowledge while fostering camaraderie among employees.

On the Lands Journal, participants were also awarded for their contributions on policy analysis, as follows:
