LMB Technical Personnel Conducted Site Inspection of the Proposed Standard Baseline for Cordillera Administrative Region

On December 14, 2022, the Land Management Bureau’s (LMB) group of technical personnel composed of Engr. Romeo P. Verzosa, Assistant Director; Engr. Bienvenido F. Cruz, Chief of Geodetic Surveys Division (GSD); Engr. Ariel F. Reyes, Chief of Parcel Information Section (PIMS) and concurrent Head of LAMS National Coordinating Desk (LNCD) and Engr. Jesse L. Junco, Chief of Control and Projection Section (CPS) conducted site inspection of the proposed Standard Baseline for Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) inside the Benguet State University (BSU) campus in La Trinidad, Benguet. The proposed CAR Standard Baseline is a second Regional Standard Baseline to be established after the Tagum Standard Baseline in Davao Region. This is in connection with the decentralization of survey instrument testing and renewal of certificate of registration pursuant to government initiative for better delivery of public service.

The LMB group were accompanied by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-CAR technical personnel from the Survey and Mapping Division (SMD) composed of Engr. Benjamin Ventura, Chief of SMD; Engr. Marcos Badongen and Engr. Cherry Ayban. The Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (GEPI) who also accompanied the inspection team is composed of Engr. Victorino Domingo, National President; Engr. Ponciano Valdez, Jr., President of CAR Division; Engr. Mauricio A. Nead, Engr. Alfonso S. Felix, and Engr. Allan H. Contero.

Before proceeding to the proposed baseline site inspection, the team also paid a courtesy call to the management of BSU composed of President Felipe Salaing Comila, Atty Allan C. Sagpa, BSU Vice-President, Director Conrado C. Bao-Idang, Engr. Edralyn Fay Miguel, and Professor Kenwal Kyle C. Galian. The BSU President has a positive response to the project considering that it will give more public attention to their university and rise even more the prestige of their institution. There are three (3) option sites, all inside Benguet State University (BSU) campus that were visited and whereby the third option were unanimously selected by the team. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) will be drafted by the LMB following the format of MOA of Tagum Standard Baseline.
