LMB Officials Attended the International Conference for the Establishment of the ASEAN Qualification Reference Framework on Surveying on October 4-7, 2023

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), through its Professional Regulatory Board of Geodetic Engineering (PRBGE), in coordination with the International Development Division of the International Affairs Office (IAO-IDD), on October 4-, 2023 has hosted the international conference entitled, International Conference for the Establishment of the ASEAN Qualification Reference Framework (AQRFon Surveying, with primary aim to provide a platform for the exchange of fundamental principles, considerations, and the harmonization of concepts within the AQRF.

Additionally, the conference aims (a) to facilitate the development of the Philippine Qualification Framework (PQF) of Geodetic Engineering and the Referencing Report, both of which are vital inputs for the formulation of the AQRF in surveying; and (b) to enhance the Geodetic Engineering Roadmap with reference to the guidelines of the Career Progression and Specialization Program (CPSP).

The 4-day event which was held in Hilton Manila in Pasay City was attended by the Lands Management Bureau (LMB) officials composed of Director Atty. Emelyne V. Talabis, Assistant Director Engr. Romeo P. Verzosa, and the Chief of the Geodetic Surveys Division (GSD) Engr. Bienvenido F. Cruz. Participants from ASEAN country members composed of the Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (online), Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam also attended the event which was facilitated by the PRBGE Chairman Engr. Epifanio D. Lopez, and PRBGE members Engr. Concordio D. Zuniga and Randolf S. Vicente. The event was graced by PRC Commissioners Hon. Erwin M. Enad and Hon. Jose Y. Cueto, Jr.
