LMB marks 120th Anniversary

With the theme, “Overcoming Hurdles and Surpassing Boundaries of Land Administration and Management through Digital Transformation”, the Land Management Bureau (LMB) celebrates its 120th Lands Anniversary this September, 2021.

The Opening Program which was held through virtual last September 3, 2021 showcased the bureau’s milestones and directions for 2021.

The presentation highlighted the bureau’s achievements such as timely policies such as policies on accretion and legal easements, adoption of one-stop-shop for processing permits involving energy-related projects and the crafting of the implementing rules and regulations of the most recent enacted law, RA 11573 – the law simplifying and improving the issuance of agricultural free patents. Also highlighted are the innovations on land administration services of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) such as strengthened ties with partner agencie s through systems and data linkages that would help improve land information management and titling operations.

Also, Undersecretary Ernesto Adobo, Jr., the Undersecretary for Legal, Administration, Human Resources and Legislative Affairs and the LMB’s Supervising Undersecretary graced the celebration as he expressed his message to all participants. He emphasized that with strong leadership and commitment of LMB, the bureau has delivered notable achievements being at the forefront of improving the land administration and management functions of the DENR.

LMB amidst the pandemic

The impact of the pandemic is most felt on the implementation of the bureau’s and land sector’s programs in land administration and management. The pandemic forced LMB to reduce or avoid personal interactions with clients in the conduct of surveys and titling activities. The bureau also resorted to virtual platforms for meetings and workshops, and adopt the work from home scheme, skeleton workforce arrangements while implementing minimum safety and health protocols and various health and wellness.

Activities for 120th Lands Anniversary

In celebration of the 120th Lands Anniversary, the LMB will be conducting activities, namely Phonetography Contest, Webinars on Lands 101 and LMB 101, Talakayang Panlupa, and The Masterminds: LMB Quiz Bee.

The Land Management Bureau (LMB), spearheaded by the DENREU-LMB Chapter and in coordination with LMB Innovation and Editorial Board, conducted a donation drive last October 1, 2020 at Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH). The DENRU-LMB officials distributed 200 pieces of packed lunch for QCGH medical frontliners as part of the Bureau’s celebration of its 119th Founding Anniversary.
