9 REGIONS READY FOR RLTA IN 2018
In order to jump-start the implementation of the Rapid Land Tenure Appraisal (RLTA), nine pilot Regions underwent training and immersion activities in two batches on July 16-20 and August 6-10, 2018.
The Land Management Bureau (LMB), in coordination with DENR Regions 7, 8, and 13, led the training in Dumaguete City, Bohol, Cebu and Agusan del Sur to share their expertise and knowledge gained during the Second Phase of the Land Administration and Management Project (LAMP2) in 2010.
Participating Regions include the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), MIMAROPA, Regions 1, and 5 for Batch 1; and Regions 6, 7, 8, 9 and 13 for Batch 2. These Regions are programmed to implement RLTA in their pilot municipalities such as Kapangan, Marinduque, Sto. Domingo, Sta. Magdalena, Malay, Alcoy, Gamay, Sindangan and Bislig this year.
The RLTA is a strategy identified by LMB in support of accelerated land titling of the DENR. This approach will provide an accurate inventory of all the remaining untitled lands all over the Philippines and shall pursue Number 6 of the Duterte Administration’s 10-point socio-economic agenda, “ensure security of land tenure to encourage investments, and address bottlenecks in land management and titling agencies.”
This approach is also supported by Technical Bulletin No. 1, series of 2018 entitled, “Procedures in the Implementation of Systematic Adjudication in Support to the Land Titling Program of the DENR” approved by LMB Acting Director Atty. Emelyne V. Talabis on May 4, 2018.
