Empowering Women Through Creative Expression: LMB’s MusikJuana Video Making Contest for National Women’s Month 2024

As part of the month-long celebration of National Women’s Month 2024, the Land Management Bureau (LMB) marked its third week celebration with the MusikJuana Video Making contest, inspired by the “MusikJuana 2021 Song Contest” of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW). MusikJuana was organized by the LMB Gender and Development Focal Point System (GAD FPS) to promote the power of music to inspire creativity, honor women’s achievement, and advocate for gender equality through visual storytelling.

The contest encouraged participants from various Divisions within the LMB to interpret different songs with themes relevant to their respective roles and responsibilities. The Land Policy and Planning Division interpreted the song “Landas para kay Juana,” while the Administrative Support Staff brought to life the message of “Nasa Atin (Kababaihan).” Likewise, the Geodetic Surveys Division released a video using “Ikaw ay Ginto,” and the Records and Knowledge Management Division used “Si Juana Ako.” Lastly, the Land Management Division showcased their interpretation of “Kayang-Kaya ni Juana.”

The interpretative videos should align with the GAD theme for 2024, Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas, Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patunayan,” while emphasizing creativity and originality in their visual storytelling. The aim is to encapsulate the essence of the chosen song while advocating for gender equality through compelling narratives.
