FIELD IMPLEMENTERS TRAINED ON ONLINE LAMS-PLA
In order to train the implementers in the field offices on the use of the online Public Land Applications (PLA) tool under the Land Administration and Management System (LAMS), an orientation workshop was conducted for Visayas – Mindanao Cluster on January 9-11, 2019.
Participated by LAMS Coordinators, System Administrators, Deputized Public Land Investigators (DPLIs), Licenses, Patents and Deeds Divisions (LPDDs) and Development Management Officers (DMOs) from DENR- Regions 6 to 13, how-tos of processing of public land applications through LAMS were discussed and simulated by the participants.
Once the system is fully implemented in the field offices, a streamlined processing of PLAs is expected; ongoing and pending applications tracked quickly; and public land records can be easily accessed.
One of the best features of the online PLA is the Transaction Tracking System, an automated and systematic process of assigning all active and on-going application. Other topic discussed during the workshop was the PLA mobile. Presented by Ms. Diana Apistar of the Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF), the discussion mainly focused on the advantages of the PLA Mobile, an application designed by FEF which can be downloaded in tablets and mobile phones intended to aid processing of PLA on remote areas. Currently, the FEF is working in coordination with the LMB on the development of the application for LAMS Philippines.
Issues raised during the workshop were resolved particularly on the implementation of the online LAMS PLA, together with Atty. Emelyne V. Talabis, Engr. Romeo P. Verzosa, Mr. Donald Mendizabal currently the OIC Head of the ICTS, as well as Engr. Ariel F. Reyes and Engr. Precious Navarro of the LAMS National Coordinating Desk
