GSD LEADS ORIENTATION-WORKSHOP ON THE MONITORING OF RECONSTRUCTION OF OLD SURVEY RECORDS
The Geodetic Surveys Division (GSD) organized a two-day Activation workshop on the Monitoring of Activities on Reconstruction of Old Survey Records, last February 27-28, 2017 at the Ramada Hotel, Binondo, Manila. LMB Officials and Staffs, together with the Chiefs of the Survey and Mapping Division (SMD) and Technical Staffs from selected nearby Regional Offices participated in the said activity.
The objective of this workshop is to conceptualize a mechanism on the monitoring in the conduct of massive reconstruction of survey records in the DENR Regional Offices.
The participants agreed that although there are missing records in the Regional Office at the Records Section, CENRO and PENRO, it must be available in the Land Survey Data Management System – Philippine Reference System 1992 (LSDMS-PRS92) survey. LMB will also provide digital files of parcels from the LSDMS-PRS92 to all Regions to assist them in the identification of their new set of targets
The use of open source CAD softwares like Draftsight, Cadian and others is preferred for the meantime, since there are no available license softwares yet. However, it is also advised that computer-aided drafting (CAD) softwares shall be included in the next Work and Financial Plan (WFP) as capital outlay.
