Land Management Bureau Offers Insights on Land Titling in Ateneo’s 2nd Socialized Housing Summit

The 2nd Socialized Housing Summit, hosted by Ateneo de Manila University through the Ateneo Center for Social Entrepreneurship (ACSENT) and Social Enterprise Development Partnerships Inc. (SEDPI), entered its second day on March 19, 2024 with a focus on “Bridging Gaps, Building Futures: Innovating Solutions.”

A notable speaker of the summit was the Land Management Bureau’s (LMB) Assistant Director Romeo Verzosa, who delivered a comprehensive presentation during the plenary discussion on the theme “Navigating Through Land Titling.”

Verzosa shed light on several critical aspects related to land titling, covering the mandate of the LMB, various modes of acquiring public alienable and disposable agricultural lands, as well as pertinent legislative frameworks such as Republic Acts 11573 and 10023, along with their respective implementing rules and regulations.

Furthermore, Verzosa emphasized the significance of special patents, underscoring the importance of streamlined processes to facilitate equitable access to land ownership, particularly in the context of socialized housing initiatives.

The presentation by Assistant Director Verzosa provided attendees with valuable insights into the complexities of land titling procedures and highlighted the ongoing efforts of the LMB to address pertinent challenges in this domain.
