The Land Management Bureau (LMB) through Gender and Development Focal Point System (GADFPS) conducted a lecture on Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 under RA 9003 as support to the annual celebration of the National Climate Change Consciousness Week for CY 2019 last November 20, 2019 at the Barangay Hall, North Signal Village, Taguig City.

This was participated by selected LMB GADFPS, thirty (30) participants from the Barangay North Signal Village, Taguig City and Mr. Rafael B. Cruz the Resource Person invited from the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB). Mr. Cruz tackled the practices needed in improving the proper disposition of domestic waste and the importance of the Three (3) R’s – REUSE, REDUCE and RECYCLE – all help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away. Mr. Cruz ended his lecture with a video presentation that promotes the Solid Waste Management.

Moreover, GADFPS also conducted the third and last batch of the Census/Survey for this year at the Barangay Hall, North Signal Village, Taguig City – first batch in July; second batch in September; and third batch in November. This activity aims to identify the impact of land titling to beneficiaries of Proclamation No. 172 and determine the areas for improvement with regard to processing of Taguig applications where Ms. Maria Gina F. Pascua emphasized the objectives and importance of the Survey in relation with Gender and Development in land titling programs.

This activity concluded the objective correctly with a positive effect of land titling activities, different beautiful stories behind the impact of land titling to their lives and empowered women under this land titling program because most of those interviewed have their names included in their land titles.

Lastly, Chairperson Jesus J. Pullente ended the activity as he gave his closing remarks with warm heart saying “Maraming salamat sa patuloy na pagtulong sa aming Barangay sa pag proseso ng aming mga titulo at walang sawang pagbibigay kaalaman sa karapatan ng mga kababaihan para makamit ang gender equality at women empowerment.”
