LMB celebrates Arbor Day through a tree-planting activity

In celebration of the Philippine Arbor Day, the Land Management Bureau (LMB) conducted a tree-planting activity in Tanay, Rizal on June 30, 2023.

Celebrating Arbor Day by planting trees is one of the most significant ways we can protect and preserve our planet.

39 LMB employees, led by the Bureau Director, Atty. Emelyne Talabis, LMB Assistant Director Engr. Romeo Verzosa, and Geodetic Surveys Division Chief Engr. Bienvenido Cruz, planted at least 200 seedlings of different species. The said activity is also in consonance with the requirement under the law that each able-bodied citizen of at least 12 years of age should partake in this activity once every year.

The Philippine Arbor Day is observed every 25th of June throughout the country by planting trees in pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 643 and Republic Act No. 10176.

AD Verzosa mentioned that it is a great opportunity to be able to plant trees and to contribute to the efforts of the government in averting the impact of climate change.

Foresters Nestor Arriola and Christopher Delos Santos of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Rizal assisted in the planting of various indigenous seedlings on the site.
