LMB COMMITS BETTER SERVICES TO PUBLIC, SPECIAL CLIENTS

The Land Management Bureau (LMB) strengthens its commitment to provide better and improved services to the public particularly to persons with disability (PWD) and senior citizens (SC), through the conduct of an orientation on the rights and privileges of special clients,held at the LMB Training Hall on February 26 this year.

“The law provides special privileges for PWD and SC that we have to uphold,” LMB OIC-Assistant Director Emelyne V. Talabis said, as she welcomed the participants.

“The Bureau, as a frontliner in providing various land transactions, must provide the necessary services on land-related matters that they deserve.”“It is for this purpose that we are providing trainings and capacity building to our staff and officers to orient them of the various programs and activities of the Bureau,”she said.

“Yung pagsasama-sama natin ngayon, ipinapakita natin ang ating pagkakaisasa pagbibigayng maayos na serbisyo sa publiko,” she added.

Talabis further said that LMB would be open for suggestions and recommendations from the resource persons on how to better improve the services of the Bureau and to make it more “friendly” to differently-abled persons.

Valuable insights and inputs from key resource persons such as Mr. Rizalio R. Sanchez, chief of the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Division of the National Commission on Disability Affairs (NCDA)and Atty. Germaine Trittle P. Leonin, head of the National Coordinating and Monitoring Board (NCMB) Secretariat and the SCfocal person of the Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD) talked on the key mandates on the rights of PWD and the salient features of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9994 or The Expanded Senior Citizens Act Of 2010, respectively.

The LMB, in its commitment to improve and better the facilitation of land records transactions, have installed a digitized transaction mechanism called the Data Transaction Tracking System (DTTS) at thePublic Assistance and Complaint Unit (PACU). The DTTS facilitates tracking of survey records, reference copy of plan, technical description, cadastral map and other land-related queries.

Moreover, following the Civil Service Commission’s rules and regulations, a special lane was provided at the PACU for senior citizens, PWD, pregnant women and differently-abled persons. ###
