Participants seized the opportunity to showcase their countries’ initiatives and challenges. Presentations ranged from forest planning and renewable energy production to transportation planning and land use monitoring. For the Philippines, Mendizabal presented GIS-based land information systems in the country. Participants also partook in field trips to Taiwanese institutions which make use of GIS, such as the Taiwan Space Agency and the National Land Surveying and Mapping Center. This offers a firsthand experience of Taiwan’s advanced capabilities in space technology, mapping, and GIS technology.

The Seminar on Geographical Information System and Land Management served as a testament to each country’s commitment to fostering global partnerships for sustainable development.
