LMB GADFPS Welcomes Barangay Western Bicutan of Taguig City as the 7th Partner LGU for the Mainstreaming of Gender and Development (GAD) Related Activites for CY 2024

The Land Management Bureau’s Gender and Development Focal Point System (LMB-GADFPS) welcomed Barangay Western Bicutan as its seventh partner Local Government Unit (LGU) in Taguig City, marking a transformative shift in the mainstreaming of Gender and Development (GAD) activities for CY 2024 last January 23, 2024 at the Barangay Hall, Western Bicutan.

This was participated by the GAD Chairperson Ms. Maria Gina Pascua, GAD Vice- Chairperson Ms. Jennifer Marie C. Borbon, GAD Coordinator Ms. Roselyn V. Ecay, GAD Policy Review and Formulation Vice- Chairperson Engr. Jewel Templonuevo and the Head of Taguig Unit, Mr. Allan Macalalad together with the officials headed by Barangay Chairperson Pedrito Bermas and staff of Barangay Western Bicutan held last January 23, 2024, at the Barangay Hall, Western Bicutan, Taguig City. This collaborative effort highlighted the unwavering commitment of both LMB-GADFPS and Barangay Western Bicutan to community-driven GAD initiatives, showcasing a dedication to enhancing participatory nature of these initiative.

During the ceremony, Ms. Pascua discussed the important roles of Barangay Western Bicutan in mainstreaming LMB-GAD efforts. This sets the stage for a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to be signed by Barangay Chairperson Pedrito Bermas and LMB Director Emelyne V. Talabis. The year-long activities outlined in the discussion, include an orientation on Proclamation No. 172, Women’s Month Celebration, Census Survey Activity, and other GAD-related initiatives, showcased a comprehensive approach towards gender-equality and inclusivity.

As Ms. Pascua and LMB-GADFPS members officially handed over responsibilities from Barangay Central Bicutan to Western Bicutan, the ceremony was more than a symbolic gesture. It marked the beginning of a collaborative journey towards empowering communities. Barangay Chairperson Pedrito Bermas, along with other barangay officials, warmly welcomed the LMB GADFPS, expressing his enthusiasm and unwavering support for the upcoming plans and programs of GAD for CY 2024.

This turnover ceremony not only signifies a change in responsibilities but also stands as a testament to the Land Management Bureau’s ongoing evolution, showcasing adaptability and dedication in fostering gender-inclusive, community-driven development.
