To continuously show its support on the on-going restoration and rehabilitation of Manila Bay, the Land Management Bureau (LMB), together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Central Office, DENR Bureaus, and other Attached Agencies, joined hands in a series of clean-up activities held during the first week of January 2020.
The LMB was scheduled for a clean-up last January 8 and 10, 2020 at the Baseco Compound and Baywalk Area. A total of 82 LMB employees participated during the two-day rehabilitation activity.
The daily clean-up drive is part of DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu’s directive during his traditional “New Year’s Call” held at the DENR Central Office in Quezon City last January 3, 2020. According to Secretary Cimatu, he wants every DENR personnel to be “more visible” in this year’s Manila Bay rehabilitation.
With the hope of sustaining the momentum of the Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program, the DENR, with the help of its Regional Offices, Bureaus and Attached Agencies, will continue to conduct daily clean-up drives at areas surrounding the Manila Bay for the whole month of January 2020.
