LMB, REGIONS PRESENT LAMS MID-YEAR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Coinciding with the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of incumbent President Rodrigo R. Duterte, the Land Management Bureau (LMB) hosted the Land Administration and Management System (LAMS) Mid-Year Assessment last July 24-27, 2016 at the Bohol Tropics Resort, Tagbilaran City. Participated by officers from LMB, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Regional LAMS Coordinators and System Administrators, and Crevel International Inc., the event is part of the undertaking of the government to lessen manual transactions and administer a more efficient system through the use of LAMS.

Engr. Warlito Quirimit, Head of LAMS-National Coordinating Desk presented the rationale, and emphasized the importance of assessing the accomplishments of each Region in preparation for the nationwide data capture activity to fully implement LAMS in the country. Each Regional participant was tasked to prepare a presentation of detailed accomplishments for both the present and previous years and to provide updates of their respective LAMS activities which includes the Inspection, Verification and Approval System (IVAS), First-In First-Out (FIFO), Digital Land Survey Data (DLSD) submission, SMS Online Tracking, and Digital Cadastral Data Base (DCDB) Cleansing. Scanned images and encoded data collected from both Provincial and City Environment & Natural Resources Offices (PENROs, CENROs) from each Region are required to be submitted for upload in LAMS Philippines. To further improve the services of LAMS, possible adjustments which entail the use of Online Connectivity for LAMS Public Land Applications (PLAs), masked SMS system, Database Replication, and Digital Signature were presented.

Acting Director Emelyne V. Talabis encouraged all delegates to “think outside the box”, echoing the words of DENR Secretary Gina Lopez, and to continue exerting tremendous effort in their part. She emphasized the need to comply with the expectations of the new administration, with the shorter processing time of IVAS under LAMS as one of the projects intended to be part of the Bureau’s accomplishments in the first 100 days.
