The Land Management Bureau’s Senior Citizen and Person with Disability (LMB SC/PWD) Desk conducted a basic Filipino Sign Language (FSL) training on July 29, 2024 at Brentwood Hotel, Quezon City. This activity commemorates the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) and National Disability Rights Week with its theme of “Diversity is our Strength, Embrace the contributions of People with Disabilities and strive for a more inclusive Philippines.” This was participated by LMB’s Front Desk Officers and Officers of the Day.
Assistant Director Romeo Verzosa expressed his gratitude to the LMB SC/PWD for initiating the training aimed at front-line service employees. He emphasized that the Land Management Bureau is committed to improving accessibility for public clientele and ensuring that every individual, regardless of their abilities, can engage with LMB services seamlessly.
The training included interactive sessions where participants actively learned and practiced basic Filipino sign language, enhancing their ability to communicate effectively with clients who have hearing impairments. This initiative is a significant step towards fostering an inclusive environment within the Bureau.
